Wait and See 07:40
Oh brother You've heard talk in the streets Of a vagrant who speaks like no other He whos wonders abound By whom all sickness bows And you wonder As you glance 'cross the room At your little girl who's breath grows weaker 'Could it possibly be? There's been miracles seen, but... for me? What if I believed?' Brother Threw your crown at His feet Your position and creed in surrender Begging 'Teacher please, come. She will die if you don't Lord We need You' And with grace in His eyes Tender words through a smile 'child, I see you, Now put your hand in mine Take me where the girl lies, wait and see' Oh brother You were stopped on the road By a woman who's known nothing other Than the blood and the pain Life thats purposed to shame and to suffer Jesus turned from the way Saying 'daughter your faith's made you well' But while she stood and praised Still your little one’s time slipped away 'Couldn’t this have waited just a little longer? Couldn't this have waited?' If only you knew what was coming next If only you knew what was coming next Then word came from home 'The young one is dead, leave the teacher alone' But The Word spoke a light He said 'Be not afraid child, it'll be alright, just believe Wait and see' All the squall and commotion made silent and still As hope interrupted their funeral hymns Said 'she's not dead but sleeping' and the scoffers they laughed But He cast 'em outside so they couldn't take part Oh how the walls must have rattled and foundations shake When He took her hand in His and said 'child, awake!' Father shattered the dark and made death look the fool When what you knew was dead you saw breathe life anew Oh brother What that snake meant for harm Now made bright in the arms of the King Traded mourning for light And a promise, that all may receive

about

This song retells the biblical story of Jairus and his daughter (as recorded in Mark 5 / Luke 8).

This is a song about waiting. If Jairus had gotten his way, in his timing, his daughter would have been healed. What he got instead when he was made to wait for God's timing was even better.

Wait, and see.

Glory to God.
